First Prize – Computer Space

I’m super happy to have received First Prize at the Computer Space Digital Arts Awards for my piece Hymn without Words.

Computer Space is a non-commercial international computer art forum, which includes Computer Graphics, Computer Animation, Web Design, Interactive Arts, and Computer and Electronic Music. With 33 past editions, and more than 20 000 participants (firms, studios or individual persons) from different countries from all over the world, Computer Space is one of the biggest and most significant events for computer arts in south-east Europe. My piece received the First Prize in the Computer and Electronic Music Category. It dedicated to my friend and fellow-composer Dale Jonathan Perkins, paying particular tribute to his music, and his aesthetic. It features extensive references (in both title and music) to Dale’s well-known cycle of works, Voice Without Words, particularly in terms of the establishment and disintegration of materials, relationships between pitch and distortion, voice and the absence of voice.
