Last night, I had the incredible experience of performing Goodnight, Tin Hau at the GRM. The audience was amazing, and it was really interesting to have an opportunity to perform on their acousmonium. My recent work – To US.S..S… – has received an Honourable Mention at the International Composition Competition of Electroacoustic Music, Destellos, Argentina. Firstly, Chris Bevan defended his portfolio of acousmatic works, with David Berezan (University of Manchester) as external examiner. I am really proud to announce that my recent piece – Goodnight, Tin Hau – has made the shortlist for the 2022 Red Jasper Award in Music Composition. The final results are to be announced in March/April 2022, but in the meantime, I look forward to listening through the shortlisted works:

For the 12th year in a row, I have enjoyed being a jury member at the International Computer Music Conference (ICMC) – both music and paper tracks. This year, more than ever before, there were some astonishing pieces… I only wish that they were not anonymous!

In Dec, I was a jury member for the Denny Awards – electroacoustic section. I enjoyed listening through the works produced, and look forward to next time around. I was particularly pleased that Chen Wang – a composer and performer who is planning to undertake a PhD with me at LCC – received third prize
